About the Author
R. D. Rosen once studied poetry with two of America’s most important 20th-century poets, Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell — but that was a long time ago. More recently, as a humorist, he has hosted specials for PBS and HBO, written for Saturday Night Live, and written or co-written several bestselling humor books, including the million-copy-seller Bad Cat, Bad Dog, and Throw the Damn Ball: Classic Poetry by Dogs.
As a serious nonfiction author, he has told the stories of three Jewish girls who hid in plain sight during WWII (Such Good Girls), an orphaned buffalo (A Buffalo in the House), and legendary Chicago Bears quarterback Sid Luckman, who overcame unimaginable trauma to become the NFL’s first modern quarterback (Tough Luck). He is also the Edgar Award–winning author of a string of baseball mystery novels (Strike Three, You’re Dead, et al.).
